David H. Jackson, U.S. Naval officer, was born in Smackover, Arkansas, on 5 June 1917. He was a 1941 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and was in the USS Preble on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. In 1945, he was attached to the USS Vincennes. A naval engineer, he was assigned to Buships, served at the Norfolk (VA) naval shipyard, and in 1966 was CO, Naval Ship Repair Facility, Subic Bay, P.I.
